Eugenio Cuttica
Eugenio Cuttica is one of the great references in the Argentinian contemporary art, who, with a prestigious career of more than 35 years, exceeds the Latin American limits, to position himself worldwide.
He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1957. He studied architecture at University of Buenos Aires and design as well, with Justo Solsona, adding Painting and Sculpture studies at the Argentinian National School of Fine Arts. While his first steps, he collaborated for some years with the well-known artists Howard Martinez and Antonio Berni. As a young artist, he was selected for the First Prize for Young Painters -Amalita Fortabat Grand Prize Argentina 1988-, and as a Finalist for the Biennale in Venice, Italy (1989). Currently, he lives in New York City, USA, where one of his main studios is based on.
His work is based on a strong imprint of synchronicity and connection to “the infinite frequency of no time dimension”, as he call it. His work is regarding the beauty as a concept -not as an intellectual construction-, as something that is simply happening, appealing to the idea that the artist is as a vehicle of energy that passes it by and that he is just a foreigner. Throughout his strong conviction of highlighting another invisible reality, Eugenio Cuttica’s masterpieces make some sort of connection with its spectators, a connection that enables the viewers to rediscover a state of contemplation.
In 2019, Cuttica was awarded as “Prominent Culture Personality” by the Government of Buenos Aires City, Argentina. His work, that has been exhibited in the most important museums and in the main art fairs worldwide, is part of the important collections in the world.
